Los Angeles-based Savage Entertainment was founded a decade ago by veterans of Activision’s internal development studio, Tim Morten and Chacko Sonny. Since then, Savage has worked with numerous publishers, including Electronic Arts, Activision, THQ, Midway, and LucasArts. The Savage team is filled out with talented designers, animators, artists, and programmers, including veterans from many of the best studios in the industry.
Savage has also created simulators for various branches of the US government, including the Army, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). Savage’s work on DARWARS: Ambush was nominated for a DARPATech award in 2007.
Savage is a licensed developer on PS3, XBox360, Wii, PSP, PS2, XBox, Gamecube, and DS. Savage has its own proprietary technology, dubbed “Sabertooth”, which has been employed on all of Savage’s internal productions. For collaborative projects, such as the James Bond and Medal of Honor series with EA, or Star Wars: Battlefront 2 with LucasArts, Savage has had worked with numerous 3rd-party engines, including UnrealEngine3, GameBryo, Quake, RenderWare, Torque, EAGL, and Pandemic’s RedEngine.
Savage’s version of Star Wars: Battlefront 2 for the Sony PSP is currently the #2 best-selling title of all time on that platform (source: NPD Funworld), and Savage’s version of Transformers for the PSP was the #5 best-selling title on that platform for 2007 (source: NPD Funworld).
